BROADWAY INSPIRATIONAL VOICES: ARTS & EDUCATION PROGRAMS - YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS

Broadway Inspirational Voices, Covenant House Staff and Residence at Covenant House NY Christmas Program

Music isn’t just our gift, it’s our SERVICE!

Tasha Michelle, Assistant Director of Arts & Education - Broadway Inspirational Voices

“As we journey through life, we not only learn it is important to find a soft place to land during the rough parts of the journey, but also, a SAFE space to land where self-expression can flow freely as we understand the innermost part of ourselves and others! Welcome to the intentional safe space created through the collaboration of Broadway Inspirational Voices’ Arts & Education Programs and Covenant House International. No matter the career field of choice, Covenant House youth walk away with tools to activate self-reflection, goal setting, and self-esteem building learned through the fundamentals of Performing Arts techniques.  This collaboration allows Cov House Youth and young adults to show up in the world with a new foundation of confidence and focused goals. We welcome you to be inspired by Cov House Youth as they step boldly into their own voices! Broadway Inspirational Voices is committed to supporting and empowering Covenant House youth and young adults. And we thank you for showing up for us!”

SONGS IN THE KEY OF ME!: Covenant House

Through the “Songs in the Key of Me!- Covenant House” program, BIV connects residents at Covenant House who have an interest in writing, songwriting, and performance with a professional composer/ teaching artist as a mentor. The team collaborates for up to 8 weeks writing and preparing an original song. Each individual program concludes with a concert or video featuring the song(s) performed by the program participants, members of BIV, the Broadway community, or the composer/lyricists themselves. Live performances in New York are performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

“On behalf of the Covenant House staff and the young people across our entire movement, thank you for going the extra mile this year to help our young people prepare to shine in our historic event, A Night of Covenant House Stars.

Your friendship and devotion to Covenant House mean so much to me, but especially to the youth who rely on you to help them find their voice, perfect their song, and use their talents to creatively shape and share their experience. This is a singular gift in itself.”

Every year you do this is a delight. To make it so amid the challenges COVID-19 imposed on us is just extraordinary.”

Thank you, Kevin Ryan, President and CEO, Covenant House International
